Dining In TriBeCa For Two Under $60

I have a deep fondness for Asian cuisine. I could honestly devour Asian food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner if I didn’t care about my soy and sugar intake *silent tears*. There is something so indescribable about the savoriness of a well-prepared Asian meal. And for this reason, I had to take a trip to China Blue.

Located in the heart of TriBeCa, China Blue serves delicious authentic Shanghainese food that will leave your taste buds and pockets extremely pleased, to say the least.

The restaurant itself is tucked away on the corner of Watts and Washington street directly down the block from a breathtaking view of the Hudson River. With an inviting and warm interior including lanterns and lots of wood, you’ll definitely feel quite pleasant and relaxed as you fill your tummy.

I ordered their Kung Pao Chicken with a side of Chinese Fried Rice with Sausage. Yum! I’m wishing I had leftovers as I’m writing this post. Their Kung Pao Chicken is a little on the spicy side but the savory stir-fry dish takes on a Shanghainese twist with sauteed vegetables and peanuts to balance out the spice! If you have a peanut allergy don’t try this one.

Chinese Fried Rice with Sausage? Yes, please. I’m typically not a sausage connoisseur but I couldn’t resist trying China Blue’s unique little spin on fried rice. Satisfying would be an understatement. If you wanted to eat this rice strictly by itself you could. Light, fluffy, and tasty is how I would describe this meal. As I mentioned earlier, I wish I had leftovers.

China Blue’s dishes are family sized and can be shared between two people comfortably. The bill came to $55 which included the two dishes and two alcoholic beverages. Not bad for a restaurant in Tribeca.
