Starting Fresh! New Site, Same Girl.

The Fashion Champ

The Fashion Champ is starting fresh! *Cues marching band* I have thought extremely hard about this decision and decided that it’s best I start with a brand new palette. It is time for The Fashion Champ to get a facelift. I’m slowly but surely learning to embrace all things new. I’ll admit that it isn’t easy for me to accept the unknown. I don’t like to step out of my comfort zone, and I honestly dislike being faced with new challenges, but  I’m beginning to realize that new gives you the opportunity to discover different parts of yourself while being able to grow along the way.

Starting fresh will allow me to develop a vision that I’ve had for more than a decade. That vision is a platform to express who I am through various outlets including food, fashion, lifestyle, and most of all fun! Emphasis on the fun part! I can’t pinpoint the exact date that I created The Fashion Champ, but I’ve kept a blog since I was 13 years old. My first blog site was titled The Elephant Room (I’ve always loved elephants), where I dished about celebrity fashion. Yes, I was a 13-year-old girl reporting and dissecting what celebrities would wear. Who did I think I was?

The Fashion Champ

My interest in writing isn’t something new. I was introduced to blogging while working at my very first job. Granted the blogging sphere today is nothing like it was ten years ago (I promise I’m not that old), but that’s the beauty of blogging. I admire that having a blog means something entirely different than it did when I first began judging celebrity’s outfits at 13. A blog has always been a place of self-expression. But over the years, blogging has evolved and is also used as a platform to shed light on social issues. I have witnessed many bloggers/influencers use this platform to change the narrative on social issues including race, lack of diversity in the fashion industry, mental health among millennials, and much more. And many have succeeded. It’s truly heartening.

I vow to put an end to having any circumstance get in the way of my vision. I aspire for The Fashion Champ to be relatable, make you hungry, make you laugh, maybe sometimes even cry (happy tears) and most of all uniquely Taylor. Cliche? Maybe.

So cheers to a new year! And I hope you’re ready to take this journey with me through the rest of 2018!

Beautifully written. Glad to see you getting back to what you love. Wishing you success and happiness in all things. I’m ready to take this journey with you. I told you the world will know your name. It’s all in God’s time. Every break you take , every move you make is planned is in his hands. Just like every other success story. No one took a straight path.
