Taylor Travels: The Blue Lagoon Iceland

The Blue Lagoon Spa in Iceland.

I recently got the chance to travel to the land of fire and ice. It is difficult to reduce the beauty of this country to one blog post. From the glaciers and craters to the hot springs and not so great hotdogs, I enjoyed this country! Iceland is genuinely an out of this world experience

Upon landing in Iceland, we decided to head straight to The Blue Lagoon. The Blue Lagoon is a geothermal spa that features a beautiful hot spring designed for cleansing your skin. Perched right in the middle of a volcanic landscape. The view was amazing! The Blue Lagoon is magical!

As you know, the temperature in Iceland in the winter is pretty much below freezing every day. This means that before you enter the hot spring, you’re pretty much freezing to death. But I promise that it’s worth it! Bring your towel and wrap yourself up until you have to unwrap upon entering the springs. Once you physically enter the springs, a peaceful sensation overtakes your entire body. You forget that you almost froze to death and are able to enjoy being enveloped in this warm, soothing, baby blue bath.  I recommend everyone visit The Blue Lagoon.

There is a mask bar located in the hot springs where you can get a relaxing facial using a Silica mask. Silica masks strengthen the skin’s barrier, protects and radiates. There’s also a bar in the hot spring that serves wine, beer, and smoothies. Facials and smoothies. What a combination!

Because I only had the pleasure of visiting Iceland for four short days, I am already planning my next trip so that I can experience more of what Iceland has to offer.
